Welcome to the Town of Greenburgh Reassessment Information Portal
The Town of Greenburgh Town Board recently announced that the Town will perform a general Town-Wide (including all Villages) reassessment of all real property within the Town. The Town Board has awarded the contract to Tyler Technologies to do the work.
Reassessment is the process of appraising all real estate in a municipality according to its full market value to ensure that each property owner pays their fair share of taxes. The process is revenue neutral, meaning the purpose is not to increase the total amount of property taxes the town receives. The purpose of the reassessment is to bring the assessed value of all properties within the Town to 100% of market value and to ensure that the property assessments are fair and equitable.
This will create greater transparency & equity to the assessment process for the first time on a Town-wide basis since 1956. This will result in an improved understanding of the process, reduce the need for assessments to be appealed long term, and reduce significantly the over ten (10) million dollars a year in refunds and related costs.
This website will keep property owners abreast of the reassessment project’s progress as well as the public meeting schedules and locations. Tyler will also be sending out informational letters throughout the project and we ask that you pay attention to anything that will come to you via hard copy, email, television, etc.
Tyler Technologies will begin with the data collection process, then move to valuation, and then to informal to formal appeals. You will be notified at various stages along the project and there will be opportunities for you to provide input. In order for this project to be a success, we ask that you participate with us. Please do not hesitate to contact Tyler Technologies with any questions and or concerns you may have.
We hope that you will return to this website frequently to follow our progress. In addition, there is Tyler Technologies contact information, where you can request additional information or just ask questions.
